Lectors are instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture during mass. The goal of a good Lector is to make it such that the attention of the people is not upon the Lector, but upon the Word of God that the Lector proclaims.

The ministry of greeter or usher is an act of hospitality, welcome and service to the those gathering on the Day of the Lord to worship our God. Ushers welcome and serve the needs of parishioners while at Mass and limit distractions to allow parishioners to be attentive to the Sacrifice that takes place at Mass.
Those that present the offertory gifts during Mass represent the entire parish as we return to God a small part of the many blessings He has given us. The unleavened bread and wine that are carried up will consecrated to become the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When a parishioner here at St. John the Evangelist passes away, we keep vigil in prayer from the time of the rosary to the time of the funeral. Parishioners sign up for an hour of prayer in the church throughout the night.
