Each Wednesday night we feed about 60-70 people for our 6th-12th Religious Ed! Our ability to do this is a beautiful stewardship effort of the entire parish, and we could use your help! Would you consider making a meal?
We eat at 7pm and all paper goods and drinks are provided, you just bring the food! We are able to reimburse you up to $100 per meal if you'd like, just be sure to turn in your receipt to the parish office.

Youth Ministry at St. John the Evangelist is a ministry FOR and FROM our young people. The primary goals of our youth ministry are to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today, to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community, and to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
As part of Religious Education, we make sure to combine faith and fun in a way that helps you grow in your knowledge of the faith, continue to develop your relationship with Christ, and grow closer to each other in the process.
Grades 9 & 10: Church History / Supernaturals / Social Justice / New Testament
Grade 11 & 12: Theology of the Body / Faith & Reason / Apologetics / Prayer & Discipleship
Throughout the year, we also participate in service projects to help make a difference in our community, including cooking and serving a meal at Warming Souls and making sandwiches for the homeless.
We have several special events and ministry opportunities throughout the year:
Steubenville Conference | Prayer & Action | March for Life | High School Youth Conference | Donut Sundays | Graduation Breakfast
Each year, we attend a Steubenville Youth Conference, a weekend youth conference focusing on a life-changing encounter with Christ. Take a look at pictures from past conferences!
Prayer & Action is a weeklong mission trip within our diocese to serve those in need. Youth live modestly for the week, staying in schools or parish buildings and working during the day on houses/property/helping the elderly, disabled, underprivileged. They live in community for the week, eating together and cooking for one another, playing games, praying together, and attending daily Mass, adoration, rosary, talks, and more to grow in faith through service and the Sacraments. We're looking forward to attending again summer 2023!
Each January, we gather with thousands across the country for the annual March for Life in Washington, DC. Along with hundreds of others from the Diocese of Wichita, we take a bus trip to the nation's capital to stand together in witness for life.

The Catholic Diocese of Wichita is proud to host the first ever DREAM Catholic Conference for High School Youth. Take this chance to experience hundreds of other fellow teens encountering Jesus Christ and what it means to follow Him.
We are so excited for the youth of our diocese to hear from Catholic speaker, musician, and performer TONY MELENDEZ and his TOE JAM BAND, and MARK HART, Executive Vice President of Life Teen!
The Conference is open to all students in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, along with their youth ministry leaders, chaperones, and most especially, their parents!
The Catholic Diocese of Wichita would like to extend an invitation for parents to walk with their youth on November 19th. Use this opportunity to accompany and influence your teen's life in a whole new way!
Once a month, St. John's Youth Ministry hosts Donut Sunday after the 8 am and 10:30 am Masses. Beginning at 7:30 am, we start to bake the donuts and then we frost and decorate them ourselves, and serve our parish family. Parishioners participate in a free will offering, and the money raised goes to a charity of the Youth Ministry's choice.
We're looking forward to having Donut Sunday's again this Fall!
