Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Level 1 (age 3-6): Wed. 9-11 am or Wed. 2-3:45 pm
Level 2 (age 6-9): Tues. 9-11 am or Wed. 4-6 pm
Level 3 (age 9-12): Tues. 3:30-5:15 pm
Cost is $25/child or $50/family

Jesus calls each of us to have the heart of a child, and here at St. John's, we try to foster that childlike faith through our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program (CGS).

CGS is a different approach to traditional religious education. The goal is not memorization or rote knowledge, but rather "a living encounter with the living God."

Under the guidance of a specially trained catechist, children from ages 3-12 are free to develop their own personal relationship with God in their own way. There is no set curriculum or structure, but rather, students are provided the materials and space they need to grow closer to God and choose the activities that will help them best do so.

Through CGS, we strive, not for catechesis of definition, but rather a catechesis of invitation.
