St. Rose Turkey Shoot - The last turkey shoot of the season will be at St. Rose parish in Mt. Vernon, Kansas on Sunday, November 19th from 12:00 Noon - 7:00 p.m. There will be a Raffle Drawing at 7:00 p.m. with over $2,500 in cash and prizes. Lunch, Supper, and Pies will be served by the St. Rose Altar Society. Along with the trap shoot there will be cards, door prizes, and inflatables for children.

Listening for Peace - All faithful are invited to join our Most Reverend Bishop Carl A. Kemme in an ecumenical prayer service invting all to engage in prayer and conversation. We seek to promote faith among us all, building on the common ground of faith. Join our Bishop, along with Catholics and Lutherans thorughout the area for this event on November 21, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

CLAY Retreat - Christ's Light in All Youth is a one-day retreat for high school freshmen and sophomores.  CLAY uses videos, activities and creative forms of prayer to impact the spiritual lives of its candidates. You will examine in a hands-on way how God the potter, molds you, the clay. $30 includes 2 meals and materials. Visit to register. 

Free Novice Chess Tournament - St. Francis of ASsisi ishosting a free novice chess tournament for kids grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.  It will be held in the St. Francisi of Assisi school cafeteria from 8:45am-12:00pm. Mother-Daughter Luncheon and Tea with Sr. Clare - Fiat Ministries, St. Peter Little Flowers Girls Club, and St. Peter Sisters in Christ will be sponsoring a Mother-Daughter Luncheon and Tea with Sr. Clare for those young ladies to catch a small glimpse of religious life.  Sr. Clare Marie Matthiass, CFR is originally from Circleville, OH. She entered the CFR sisters in 1998 and is currently serving as Community Vicar and Vocation Directress. Sr. Clare resides at Our Lady of Guadalupe Convent in the Bronx, NY.  She is the author of the new book Discerning Religoius Life available exclusively from  This event is for mothers-daughters, grandmother-granddaughters, godmother-goddaughters, aunts-nieces on Sunday, December 3rd from 11:30am-11:30pm at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School in Schulte.  Fee is $5 a person or $25 per family. The Joy of Christmas Holiday Concert - Celebrate the Season with Senseney Community Band presenting A Holiday Concert to enjoy with your friends and family. Come enjoy this special event on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Schulte. The concert benefits the Lord's Diner. Please bring one can of food per person for admission.

Movie Day for Grandparents and their School-Age Grandkids - All grandparents and their school aged grandchildren are invited to the theatre room at Reflection Ridge Retirement Community, 2300 N. Tyler Road in Wichita on Friday, December 8th from 1:30-3:00pm for a free movie day sponsored by the Senior Adult Ministry Office of Marriage and Family Life.  The 13th Day is the incredible true story of three shepherd children from the village of Fatima in Portugal who experienced six apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Admission is one homemade Christmas card to give to one of the senior residents. Parents are welcome too. This event is limited to the first 120 people who call to make a reservation with the Office of Marriage and Family Life at 316-685-5240

Advent Silent Retreat - For catechists and youth ministers at the Spiritual Life Center. Participants arrive Friday evening for non-silent social time with refreshments and conversation.  On Saturday, we will observe silence from breakfast until closing around 4pm. Advent is a time when our "souls in stillness wait". This retreat is a perfect way to help re-capture the beauty of this time of waiting.

Fiat Retreat - Fiat Ministries will be hosting a women's discernment retreat for those who are wanting to strengthen their relationship with God, grow in prayer, self-knowledge, and authentic discernment.  Women religious from various religious communities will be present to join you in prayer, share with you experiences, and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions.  This retreat is for single women ages 18-27 and will take place Friday, December 15th at 6:30 p.m. - Sunday, December 17th at 4:30 p.m. at the Spiritual Life Center in Wichtia, Kansas. Totus Tuus Camp Winter Reunion - This event is for any high school student who attended Totus Tuus Camp in 2017. It will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton from 1-9pm on Wednesday, December 27th.  Join your fellow campers, counselors, and others who attended camp to reignite the spark of Totus Tuus!  There will be games, talks, adoration/confession and dinner. (This replaces the lock-in we've held the last several years). Cost is $25 per camper and includes dinner and a t-shirt.

Surviving Divorce - The office of Marriage and Family Life will sponsor the upcoming session of the "Surviving Divorce" program beginning Monday January 8m from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at St. Cathering of Siena Catholic School, 3642 North Ridge Road in Wichita.  This 12 week program was created to bring hope and healing to divorced and separated Catholics.  The cost is $35 which includes a "Personal Survival Guide". The Daniel Plan - This Six session DVD series features medical and fitness experts who help you achieve a healthy lifestyle without counting calories or points.  You focus instead on five key essentials; faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends. Cost is $15 and includes a study guide. This class meets every Wednesday beginning January 10 from 12:00 - 1:00pm at the St. Joseph Pastoral Center, 437 North Topeka. Romance Night - The 18th Annual Night of Romance is scheduled for February 10 at the Church of the Holy Spirit. The theme of the event is The Glory of Love and the guest speaker is Fr. Child of My Heart - Miscarriage and Stillbirth Support Group - Has your family or anyone you know suffered the loss of an infant through miscarriage or stillbirth?  Are you alone in your grief not sure where to turn?  Our churh is here to help.  Child of My Heart is a Catholic ministry with parents who have experienced their own infant losses and understand the uniqueness of the grieving process.  We meet the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 861 N.
